it was the dawn of monday

31^st of august 2009

around 04:30am in the morning

when the last time i saw your kind face

you woke up earlier than me

made me a cup of coffee

and prepared a sandwich for me

after i finished packing up my things

and im all done, ready to go

i ask you to go back to your room

to continue sleeping

you disagree and insisted

to walk me to our house’s gate

saying that you want to see me leaving

and you need to lock up the gate anyway

before i ride on the jeepney

i tapped you on your shoulder

and said bye bye mom

i wave my hands on you

and you wave your hands for me too

if only i knew that it would be

our last goodbyes

i should have hugged you tight

kissed you sweetly

and whisper the words

thank you and i love you mom

i really regret not doing that

for the last time while your still alive

i remember im still staring at you

and your doing the same way too

even when the jeepney was already far away

i will also not forget the last words

you told me before i leave on the jeeepney

you wish me to go home the next week

“muli ka tung next week neh”

those were the last exact words you told me

now i think that during that time

you already knew that it would be your last goodbye

as you wish me to come home

for the week of your wake., L

today, its already been 3yrs mom

and i know that you are happier now

i know that you are always there

looking over us

please remember that

even if your gone

you’re always be in our hearts and mind
